Psychosomatic Medicine

We strive to resolve patients’ problems using a comprehensive approach, utilizing a multifaceted view from biological, psychological, and social aspects. In Japan, the number of board-certified psychosomatic physicians is still small yet, there are many patients who go from one clinic to another without getting sufficient evaluation, and live with the regret of “If I didn’t e evaluate patients with psychosomatic diseases and medically unexplained symptoms like this. In addition, where appropriate, we help patients take to the important first step to live with symptoms, when they cannot be overcome.

My approach to all medical consultations of patients is based on the stance of the “unity of mind and body” and my strong belief that “all physical symptoms have meaning.”
My fields of specialization include psychosomatic medicine and comprehensive psychosomatic disorders.
I consider consultations very important and spend at least 30 to 40 minutes on the initial consultation giving priority to mindfully listen to you and perform meaningful examinations. (Follow-up consultations do not take such a long time.) I do not only give one-way instructions when it comes to treatment, but try to stand in my patient’s shoes as we decide together on the best way to handle symptoms and to solve problems taking all circumstances into consideration.

Main diseases/disorders treated

  • Panic disorder
  • Indefinite complaints
  • Physical complaints
